Anti-bullying ambassadors take a stand

April 29, 2024 10:53am

In a proactive effort to foster an inclusive environment, a team of dedicated students at Brixham College have united as Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. Led by their passion for creating a supportive school community, these voluntary ambassadors are making waves with their commitment to tackle bullying head-on.

Meeting weekly, this enthusiastic group of students is fueled by a shared goal: to combat bullying in all its forms. The team started by brainstorming solutions to relevant questions surrounding bullying.

1. How do you stop a bully from bullying?

2. How can we support a victim of bullying?

3. How can we teach students the difference between bullying and unkindness?

Their recent brainstorming session was not only a testament to their determination but also a display of their empathy and understanding of the complexities surrounding bullying.

Scarlet, in year 8, expressed their motivation behind joining the initiative, stating, " I want to help support others and make a difference to the college."

Mark Eager, principal at Brixham College, commended the students' initiative, saying, "The dedication shown by our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors is commendable. Their proactive approach is a testament to the values led education that we strive to instill in our students."

The continued efforts of these students serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring others to take a stand against bullying and work towards building a community founded on respect and kindness.
