WeAreOne: Week of Thinking – Food for Thought Special Menu

The Thinking Schools Academy Trust’s annual WeAreOne: Week of Thinking is nearly here, and this year’s theme — “Metacognition in Action” — invites us all to pause, reflect, and explore how we think, learn, and grow. To celebrate, our catering team has crafted a unique one‑day experience designed to nourish both body and mind.

On Thursday 29 January, we’re proud to introduce our Week of Thinking Special Menu: Food for Thought — a selection of dishes built around ingredients known to support brain health, focus, and overall wellbeing. It’s a delicious way to connect with the spirit of the week and spark conversations about how the food we choose can fuel the way we think.

Why a Food for Thought Menu?

Metacognition isn’t just about learning strategies — it’s about understanding how our choices shape our performance. Nutrition plays a powerful role in concentration, memory, and mood. By spotlighting brain‑boosting ingredients, we’re helping students and staff experience metacognition in a practical, enjoyable way.

Expect ingredients such as:

•     Blueberries for memory support
•     Leafy greens for cognitive clarity
•     Whole grains for sustained energy
•     Omega‑rich foods to support brain function
•     Nuts and seeds for focus and mood balance

These aren’t just healthy choices — they’re conversation starters.

What to Expect on the Day?

Our Food for Thought menu will feature:

•     Vibrant, nutrient‑packed dishes
•     Fun facts about how certain foods support the brain
•     Opportunities for students to reflect on how food affects their learning
•     A shared celebration of wellbeing across the Trust

Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with friends, every dish is designed to inspire curiosity and spark discussion.
