Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra Curricular at Brixham College

At Brixham College we aim to provide students with a range of Extra Curricular and Co-Curricular opportunities each half term. This provision forms part of our Personal Development programme, in which our aim is to develop our student’s cultural capital and give them access to experiences and opportunities that may not be able to access otherwise.

Extra-Curricular Offer

The majority of our Extra-Curricular experiences and offers, are free of charge and are based on our college site. Extra-Curricular opportunities start at 3pm and continue until 4pm (unless otherwise stated). Our Extra -Curricular after school programme runs from Monday to Thursday each week.

For those students who normally use our college bus service, and wish to attend an activity, a late bus is provided, which leaves at 4.10pm. Students must book onto the late bus each day by Break 1, via main reception.  This is the same late bus service that can also be used by students accessing seminar study as well.

Our Extra-Curricular provision is reviewed each half term, giving students an opportunity to try something new each term. As well as advertising our offer via our college website, the offer is also displayed via our Extra Curricular noticeboard found in the LRC.

Co-Curricular Offer

Throughout the year our subject and faculty areas, also offer additional experiences and opportunities that are designed to enhance a student’s learning in those subject areas. These can be offered via the Extra-Curricular programme, but also as stand alone, trips, visits and residentials. These will be advertised to our students via subject lessons, through their tutors and via this website page. Co-Curricular opportunities usually have a charge associated with these, but to ensure that all students can benefit from these experiences, we offer these in advance with payment plans also being made available and can be paid via the parent pay system or via cash/cheque through the cash office in college.
